That's my boy!!!

I got a phone call this morning from Gage's 1st grade teacher telling me some awesome news. 3 kids have been selected from the whole school to go and have lunch with the mayor and principal on Friday. These kids that have been selected are called "peace builders" which are kids that go out of their way to be nice and kind to other students and to also excell in school. I went to parent teacher conferences last week and met with his teacher and she had told me that in the two months that Gage has been in school he has gone from readig first grade words and books to now reading 3 grade words and books. He has set a standard for himself (which mind you mom and dad were never this way in school) that he wants to be the very best at whatever he does. He has pushed himself to be up with the top kids in class. I was so proud of him last week with his determination to do so well in school. I have always known that Gage has the biggest heart ever as he would do anything for anyone and it's good to hear that he continues that wherever he goes. I cannot tell you how proud of a mom I am to have such a good kid. Congrats Gage!! Mom and Dad LOVE YOU!!!

My cute doll from Cindy and...

I actually pulled out the sewing machine today and paints and started a cute "folk art" doll. I got the finished doll from Cindy from Art by Cindy. She is such a cute doll!! Thanks Cindy. Check out her work on her blog on my favorite blog list "Art by Cindy". The other naked doll is a doll I'm working on for my booth that Brenda from Vintage Polka Dot has going on. I have some dolls for Christmas in the booth right now but will update some more in a couple of weeks. I think this little gal will be a Valentines/everyday doll. I had alot of fun working on her face. I usually stitch eyelids on but decided to do it all by paint this time. I was really nervous on how it was going to turn out but I think I did okay. It was fun. I'm hoping this upcoming year to do more folk art dolls.

Who says I'm not big

Bridger totally cracks me up. His brother and sister love to lay down on the floor and color. Well Monkey see Monkey do. I think it's so cute that he's trying to be so big like them.
