My arch ways are finally going in. The top pictures are from before. They should be all done come Thurs. so then I get the big job of painting so if any of you want to paint ;) I'm loving it already. I'm getting excited about decorating it all too. I have some cute dollies on order :)

my thrift store find

So I have been needing a nightstand/dresser for a while but whatever I find I want is sold or too much. Well I was a little bit bored today and thought we would go to the thrift store for the heck of it. I found this cute nightstand/dresser that was in good shape minus the one shelf that had water damage. Picked this thing up for 8.00. Well yesterday I was surfing around on the web waiting for Burke to get home from church meetings and found this cute blog that sells furniture and cute pegs and shelfs. They had made a cute night table like this with a "poppy" theme. I loved it so much of course and it was sold so when I found this the light bulb in my head went off and I thought to myself I have a cricuit that can cut the poppy's out so it was a sold item to me. I came home and modge podged some scrapbook paper on the two shelfs to hide the water damage and cut out some poppies and tied a purple tole ribbon on the top. I'm loving my new find. I'm loving the thrift store ;) Last week I found halloween costumes for the kids and got all three of the kids costumes for 15.00. I'm feeling lucky I tell ya. I shouldn't spoil it I guess ;)

a fun weekend painting and surpise mail

So we finally decided on a color for our bedroom again~haha. This is such a fun and soft colors that we are glad for the change. The handyman is coming back tomorrow to finish up the chair rail and come Wed. morning my arch ways will be started. I'm getting so excited that I can barely stand it. To go along with all this finishing work I got a cute package in the mail Sat. from Countercraft Primitives. I entered her blog giveaway and won these cute items. I'm excited to have them out. So I got a couple of cute packages today in the mail that totally made my day. I've been so frustrated with my home and the progress that just isn't happening it seems to me but then again I am impatient~haha. I got this cute pattern from Sandy from the Raggedy Ann Birthday party. It's so darling. I'm excited to make one of these cuties. The other package I got from Pea. I got this way cute magnet and yummy smelling little pumpkins. I love how she wrapped them all. Thank you girls for being so sweet to me. You have no idea how much this made my day.

It's acutally happening

After waiting a long summer to get someone over to the house to start work it actually happened yesterday. I should be done with everything next week as my mud man is coming to start doing the arch ways. After he started doing the chair rail here in the bedroom both hubby and I hate the color so we are going to repaint it this weekend. I know, I'm never happy with my colors~haha. We are going to paint it a soft green and yellow. I think it will look a little better than this color. I really loved this color but it just didn't turn out the way I had thought it would and I'm not in love with it as much so back to painting it again. My poor husband~lol. It's fun though to put some color's together. There are alot to choose from.

before and after

Hubby and I decided to be "uptown" and pain the kitchen table and chairs this Sat. They turned out so good but I can honestly say I'm still in hunch over mode as I got the privledge of painting the chairs. All 6. It makes everything look so much nicer and put together. Cross your fingers for me as my construction man is coming tomorrow to start the chair rail in the bedroom. I'm getting so excited!!

Jelly Cabinets???

Does anyone know where I could find a good Jelly Cabinet for a good price?? Even one that's unfinished? I'm looking at maybe using it for a DVD holder since it would look good with my cabinets and decor now.

I finally got the sewing machine out

It's been ages since I pulled the old sewing machine out but I finally did this past weekend and looky what I did~haha. I made this cutie for a friend of mine who's family member loves frogs. She is also a Stamping up scrapbooking lady so I'm going to make a black apron for this frog and put some fun scrapbooking things and stamps in there. She has been alot of fun to make. I had to make another frog body to make for winter. Thanks Kim for the fun pattern!!!!

Fall is in the air

This past few days it sure has felt like fall. I can see the leaves on the moutains change color and I can feel that crisp fall air in the morning. I have to say I do like fall but it makes me a bit depressed knowing that summer is gone and the snow will be falling soon. I found this cute picture of Bridger last fall dressed up in his pumpkin outfit. Sad thing is the kid is still so dang small he probably can still fit it~hahaha. Well I hope everyone is enjoying a great early fall day. I'm got my trim for my bedroom the other day so I'm starting to paint it so it can be put up next week. Hubby and I are going to paint the kitchen table and chairs this weekend black to match the rest of the kitchen. I'm getting so excited. My house when it's all done is going to be awesome!!!

I have to vent.....

So back in July I hired a guy to come and do some remodeling to my home. Well he wanted half up front which only was 250.00. So I paid him and he was going to be at my home first thing that Monday morning. Well he called said he couldn't come and had an excuse which was how he was for the next month. He never showed nor my supplies so we fired him and asked for our money back. Well of course we got no money back, we tired calling and he wouldn't answer and we filed a claim with small claims court. Since he had a PO box we had to mail out the papers. Of course he wouldn't sign for them and the papers came back. I went to the court today and they said I could hire a private investigator to try and find his home location to serve him papers or I'm out the money. I'm a bit mad that people can live with themselves lying and stealing. But I guess what can ya do. I did find a new person so I'm crossing my fingers that it will work out. He dropped off the trim for our bedroom today to be painted so that is promising :) I'll have to posts pictures of the progress.

A few Christmas items

1st day of school

So Gage has now been in school for 3 weeks. 1st Grade and loving it!! I can't beleive how much he as learned. Princess Kaylee is headed off to preschool today. She's so excited. I have to laugh at her as of late when she gets her picture taken she has to "pose". I think I have a Princess model on my hands~haha. And Bridger well he's just my little puppy.

time for another show.....

Today I'm setting up for the first fall show of the season. I'm just doing the one show this season instead of the 3 I usually do. I tell ya 3 kids will take up your spare time~haha. Here is a little bit of what I have that is going. I've got alot of stuff. I'm excited to see how it goes. I can't beleive how fast this year has flowen. Also I have decided for this month to put my patterns buy 1 get 1 free. Remember that you also get a free pattern just for ordering.

In celebration of Raggedy Ann's Birthday party I was asked to share some photo's of dolls that I have made. I have kept some of these gals and sold some. I have to admit that she shares a special place in my heart as she keeps my winter days occupied by sewing some new girls up. I have met some wonderful ladies all over the world some of which have become my very best friends because of these dolls. I still get excited each time I finish one as each one has it's own personality. I owe so much to you Raggedy Ann. You have made my "artistic side" show that I never thought I had. Thanks so much!! Reaping the rewards

I've been getting my produce now out of my garden and it's been wonderful! My watermelon was so tasty and my cantelope has been so yummy too, especially with some vanillia ice cream ;) My poor corn wasn't so good this year. I think I need an acre just to grow it!~haha. I hope you are all having a great long holiday weekend. I'm just tagging up items this weekend for the fall show that opens on Wed. I set up on Tues. Boy this summer has flowen by!!

Here are my kitchen cabinets. Aren't they amazing. My good friends are too good to me and we got these babies done in 3 days. I'm excited to start painting walls now :) I think I'm going to do my red accent wall behind the cabinets to bring those out more. I have my fall show starting next week so I'll be back to these in a couple of weeks. I just think they are so cute.

painting the kitchen cabinets

Well I have to say that I have the best neighbors ever!!! A good friend of mine called me last week and asked if I was going to paint my kitchen cabinets. I wanted to but didn't as I knew it would be a BIG job and I have some other jobs around the house I need to get finished up so we can move forward onto more jobs~lol. Well she told me Monday morning I will be at your house and we will start these things. 9:30 rolls around yesterday and there she was. We got everything all sanded and a couple of coats of paint up as we had sweet neighbors who would see us and stop by to help. I can't beleive how sweet people are and how willing they are to help. This job I think would have taken me 3 weeks atleast but I think they will be done by Friday. I will post some pictures for sure. My cabinets are white now and they will be sanded at the edges and then stained with a darker stain. I'm so excited. I did this to my bathroom and loved it. Thanks Burke for letting us do this. My poor honey!! ;)
